How NGOs Can Create Lasting Social Impact in Chhattisgarh

Measure outcomes that matter

Counting activities is useful, but it does not fully explain whether a programme helped. Organisations should also examine changes in access, knowledge, participation, confidence, behaviour, or continuity, depending on the goal. Community feedback and honest review are essential, including when results differ from expectations.

Plan for sustainability from the beginning

A sustainable programme considers what happens when initial funding, staff time, or external attention decreases. Local skills, shared ownership, manageable costs, strong partnerships, and simple monitoring systems can make continued progress more likely. Sometimes the responsible choice is to strengthen an existing local effort rather than create a new structure.
